Rory McIlroy triumphs in RBC Canadian Open

Rory McIlroy has once again shown blistering form as he shot 61 in the Canadian Open to clinch his first victory this season. 

The Northern Irish man played spectacularly over the four days and eventually finished 22 under par to complete his best performance for years. Not only was this a personal best, he broke the tournament record by a massive 5 shots!n In doing so McIlroy clinched his 16th PGA Tour title with no real competition. Shane Lowry represnting Irleand finished in 2nd place Webb Simpson fro USA clinched 3rd.

His Northern Ireland team mate Graeme McDowell also had a fantastic round and clinched his spot in The Open in Portrush.

This outing and sublime play will see Rory McIlroy potentially enter The Open as the bookies favourite as Brooke Kiepka had a poor round to follow up on his recent victory.
