Switzerland v England Match Preview & Betting Tips

England will have to overcome Switzerland to clinch 3rd place in the UEFA Nations League. Both teams lost their Semi-Finals 3-1 to Netherlands and portugal.

England could've progressed if it wasn't for a contentious VAR decision when they thought they won the tie 2-1 with a late goal.

The match will have a very friendly feel about it and the club managers will not be happy with their star assets featuring. The players will be looking forward to a break before the start of their pre-season training.

Both teams are expected to make a few changes and learn from the mistakes made in the semi-final. We'd expect a few younger, fringe players to get a run out.

Switzerland have made the last 16 stage of the last 2 World Cups and were only knocked out this tournament to an incredible Ronaldo hatrick where 2 late goals were scored. They will be no pushovers, despite losing 6 of the last 7 games in which they have faced England.

England were knocked out to Netherlands where they conceded 3 goals that were more credited to poor defending as oppose to good play from Holland. However Southgate's men will not change the way they play as they look to play from the back. Switzerland will be aware of this and look to play of the nerves felt from the England back liner with Thursday's mistakes fresh on the mind. England will be looking to quickly bounce back and pick up confidence heading back into Euro qualifications.

Switzerland possible starting lineup:
Mvogo; Elvedi, Schar, Rodriguez; Lang, Sow, Fernandes, Moubandje; Steffen, Drmic, Zakaria

England possible starting lineup:
Butland; Alexander-Arnold, Keane, Gomez, Rose; Dier, Henderson, Alli; Lingard, Kane, Wilson

Harry Kane gets on the scoresheet for England on March 25, 2019

Harry Kane is desperate for a goal after 2 very disappointing Semi-Finals in recent weeks and the Semi-Final of the Euros. Therefore we think he is great value to score first at 4/1.
