Horse racing tips for Cheltenham, Chelmsford, Lingfield & Doncaster

FRODON (2.25, treble) can book his ticket for the Cheltenham Gold Cup by taking today’s Cotswold Chase at Prestbury Park.

Paul Nichols, the gelding’s trainer, significantly won the race twice with his 1999 Gold Cup winner See More Business in 1998 and 2001.

Frodon put in one of his best performances at today's course in December when slamming Cepage who was receiving 21lb.

He will need to repeat that performance with Elegant Escape, the Welsh Grand National winner, in the field. The handicapper believes he can come out on top as he is rated 14lb his superior to that rival. Minella Roco is an interesting rival.

He finished second behind Sizing John in the 2017 Gold Cup but has failed to repeat that form but his trainer, Jonjo O’Neill, believes he is returning to his best.

Paisley Park (3.35), an impressive winner from West Approach at Ascot in December, can confirm that running with that rival in the Cleeve Hurdle. West Approach is now 6lb better off for a two length beating but the selection had something in hand on that occasion.

French recruit JANIKA (1.50) can open his account in this country after showing plenty of promise when second to Hell’s Kitchen at Ascot in December.

DINGO DOLLAR (3.15, nap) can take advantage of his handicap at Doncaster. He runs off the same mark that he was given when third behind Sizing Tennessee at Newbury.
