Grosvenor is a long established, giant name in the world of offline and online gambling. Since first opening its doors in 1970, the company has grown to 55 land based casinos nationwide, with some 6,000 staff on the payroll and an estimated 8.5 million customers. No surprise then, that Grosvenor is widely regarded as a trusted, legitimate operator.
Despite its youth, its online betting site is very strong, and a rival for the biggest names in the industry. While this isn’t the focal point of Grosvenor’s business, they still do a good job with the range of markets, promotions and odds available – especially if you’re betting on football. Grosvenor sportsbook may be relatively new to the market, but with the Grosvenor brand name and expertise behind it, you can be sure of a classy experience. For the nuts and bolts of their bookmaking operation read our in depth Grosvenor Sports review below.
As previously mentioned, Grosvenor is no stranger to licensing, being subject to the licensing conditions set out by the UK Gambling Commission for over 45 years. It’s impossible to run dozens of land-based casinos without doing something right, and this is a track record that speaks volumes to the trustworthiness of the Grosvenor brand. The new sportsbook is also licensed by the Gambling Commission (as well as the Alderney Gambling Control Commission a very credible licensing authority), so if there was any doubt, you know there’s a credible third party overseeing their every move.
Grosvenor has been recognised by the industry on numerous occasions since the company was set up in 1970 however mostly for their casinos, rather than their sportsbook. Awards like ‘Casino Operator of the Year’ 2013 are among their credits so far. The sportsbook is a much more recent addition to the lineup, but given the quality of the experience, and the reputation of the Grosvenor brand, it surely won’t be too long before they’re picking up awards for sports betting to add to the collection.
Now fully owned by The Rank Group, the Grosvenor brand is still strongly associated with the British gambling market, so it came as no surprise to us when they decided to diversify from walk in casinos, into the world of online sports betting.
Although a relatively new player, the Grosvenor Sportsbook delivers an impressive selection of more than 30 markets with a wide range of markets to bet on. All the established sports are covered, including Football, Horse Racing, Golf, Cricket and Tennis.
Other markets that have more options include popular US sports such as; Basketball, Ice Hockey & NFL. They also offer some of the emerging sports too, such as; E-sports, UFC, and Chess. Grosvenor sports is easy to navigate, operating quick links to the most popular betting markets and competitions, and there are links to Live Scores, Stats and Betting Rules for added guidance if requried.
Not only are all the biggest tournament markets available, but lots of sports from around the globe are also covered. For example, within the football market, leagues and competitions in nations ranging from Germany to Jamaica can be bet on.
For all the major sports and competitions expect to find around 100 markets available, especially if you include in-play betting. However, for some of the less popular sports, there are understandably fewer betting opportunities.
As with most sports betting operators today, Grosvenor Sports also offer a cash out option to add to your betting experience.
Like most online sports betting giants, Grosvenor offer all multiple bet types including; Treble’s, Lucky 15’s, Lucky 31’s, Accumulators, Canadians, Yankees, Trixies, Patent and more. The maximum number of legs in your betslip is limited to twelve.
The selection of in-play events to bet on is competitive and you will still be able to bet on most fixtures once the action is underway. Grosvenor Sports have recently added streaming to their armoury meaning you can watch the races for example as you bet! It is also possible to keep track of match stats and other data points as the game progresses, and you can watch the action update in real-time.
