After Burnley's incredible 7th place finish in 2017/18, they followed it up with a very difficult season. The demands of an early start in the Europa League qualifiers and the sheer amount of games took it's toll on them, and therefore their Premier League campaign suffered as a result. They faced a relegation battle however with the talent in their side and Dyche's expertise, they became a very difficult side tio break down, inparticularly at home.
They have started this season very differently and replicated that form at times of 17/18. They battered a promising Southampton side 3-0 in their opening game and played well at the Emirates the weekend later and were unlucky to come away with nothing. They followed that up with a 1-1 draw at Molineux which is a difficult place for any team to go. They also had more possesion and shots in that fixture than the home side.
Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood are a handful for any defence. Barnes scored 12 last season and will look to better that this year, he has started very well and is high in confidence with 4 goals in 3 games.
However, it'll be a much tougher challenge to score against Liverpool despite their shakey start at the back. Liverpool are yet to keep a clean sheet and seem to be playing the 'we'll score more than you' game by pushing high up the pitch. TAA has been in the assists and we would back him to get another at 2/1.
Southampton were very unlucky to come away with nothing in Liverpool’s only away game so far this season. Norwich had plenty of chances at Anfield too and possibly should've notched more. Additionally, 4 of their last 5 away games in the league have seen them fail to keep a clean sheet and they’re facing a Burnley side that have scored in 17 of their 21 Premier League games in 2019.
The Clarets have also scored in 17 of their 20 home league games since the start of last season, so backing Both Teams to Score here looks a great bet. However, Burnley have lost 8 of their last 10 league meetings with Liverpool and their visitors are on a 12 match winning streak in the top flight.
