Holland v England Betting Preview, Predictions & Tips

UEFA Nations League Semi-Final: Netherlands v England

England are back in action tonight and face a tough challenge overcoming a young, exciting Holland team in Portugal. Both teams will be looking to add some silverware before the Euro 2020 tournament gets underway. England were bitterly disappointed in the Semi-Final of the World Cup and they will not want a repeat of that.

Gareth Southgate continues to get the best of this attacking England team giving oppurtunities to more talented youngsters including Declan Rice and Sancho. Champions League winners Henderson, Gomez and Alexander-Arnold will all feel they've earned a start in the England line up but many will be disappointed this evening when the teams are announced.

One man certain to start is Raheem Sterling after the stunning season that he's had at City and he also has 6 goals in his last 4 England games.

Holland however are rebuiulding following missing out in the world cup. Ronald Koeman's men have lost only 2 of their last 8 games and have recently beat Germany and France to reach the semi-final and therefor they cannot be overlooked. They also have Liverpool's concrete wall, also known as Virgil Van Dijk and De Ligt at the back. Frenkie De Jong is also in their ranks as he looks set to complete a dream move to Barcelona over the coming days. Therefore Netherlands will be a very hard team to break down and will look to play fast counter-attacking football in a game where we expect a possesion domination from Southgate's men.

We would anticipate both teams scoring in this match, therefore if either team is to go and win this tie we feel at least 2 goals will be needed. England to score 2 or more goals is currently 11/8 with BetVictor

Many are expecting a goal fest, however the recent Champions League final may be more of an accurate sign of how this game will go, with as many as 6 starters in that game expecting to start tonight. Due to that game being so close to tonights, neither team have managed to fit in a warm-up game prior to tonight.

Much has been said about Harry Kane's performance in the Champions League final. He faces Van Dijk again and will be looking to avenge the recent defeat here. We expect him to get on the scoresheet.

Our Prediction

Netherlands 1-2 England (9/1 BetVictor)

Sterling to score first (6/1 Bet365)

England to win & Under 3.5 Goals (9/4 Betway)
