Horse racing tips for Kempton, Ludlow and Wolverhampton

PYM (nap, 2.05) was runner-up in a Grade Two event at Cheltenham last time and should take advantage of a steep drop in class at Kempton today.

Representing the powerful and in-form Nicky Henderson stable, Pym will be ridden by Nico De Boinville, who scored on the gelding in a Chepstow novice hurdle in October.

Apart from that Cheltenham effort, Pym was also runner-up in an Ascot novice hurdle, where he started a short-priced favourite. In fact, he has been sent off the market leader on all of his last three runs.

At Ludlow, DIEU BENISSE (nb, 3.25) could be another winner for the Henderson yard after an unfortunate experience on her hurdling debut at Wincanton. The French recruit, who was fairly decent on the Flat, was keeping on well when capsizing at the last.

She might not have caught the odds-on favourite Posh Trish, but would at least have been a meritorious second.

Provided that mishap hasn’t affected her confidence - and she has been given plenty of time to recover since that Boxing Day incident - Pym should see off her eight rivals, best of whom might be Emma Lavelle’s Joyrider.

CLOUDLAM (treble, 5.55) still appears well treated after only a 1lb rise in the wake of her convincing win over Sajani at Newcastle last time.

She is still on the upgrade and can score at the chief expense of another last-time-out winner Perfect Refuge.
