Horses you MUST back at Plumpton and Wolverhampton

URBANIST (nb, 12.40) can take the opener at Ffos Las on his first run for Richard Newland.

The six-year-old had some decent form in Ireland for Shane Nolan - certainly good enough to see him off the mark for his new yard in this conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle.

On the best of his Irish form, he looks fairly handicapped and Newland is a master at improving horses from other yards. A recent wind operation should help Urbanist’s cause too.

MR PUMBLECHOOK (nap, 1.30) looks a banker bet at Plumpton this afternoon.

He has knocked on the door pretty firmly on his last two runs and looks sure to land his first win after a really encouraging performance last time.

That came at Newbury where he was just under two lengths behind the penalised Kateson. He was in receipt of 5lb from the winner, who had previously scored at Chepstow, but that form is way ahead of any his 12 rivals here.

SHAMAN DU BERLAIS (treble, 2.15) was a revelation on his most recent run for Tim Vaughan, finishing only half a length behind Duke Of Kilcorral at Chepstow and if he runs to anywhere near that form he should have the measure of a fairly modest bunch in the novice hurdle.

Financial Outcome, a dual point-to-point winner and an encouraging third on his hurdling debut could make a race of it with the selection.
